The End

Sadly this is the end of Laura's Bible. I really did enjoy creating this blog which was my first creative outlet on the blogosphere but I feel like it doesn't translate who I really am. Therefore, I have created a new blog with a new name ! It'll be a Lifestyle, Food And Fashion Blog. It'll be an exciting one I'll tell ya ;)

Starting on the 20th of June I will be updating the blog every other day. Why 20th of June? It's the day I'll  finish my exams. So bring on 20th of June, a day full of excitement in my life !

Here's the link to the blog : http://cookiesandgiueseppes.blogspot.co.uk/

If you want to follow my journey out in the blogosphere then go ahead and click the link above! I promise it won't be boring and the updates will be REGULAR (that's a promise.).

Thank you to everyone who has been following this blog up to this date and I'll see you on the other side maybe ? ;)

Where To Eat In London ? The Riding House Cafe

The morning after prom, we had to wake up early and go vote for our future president. After a little 'jog' to the polling station and after having voted, my very schexay friends and I went for brunch at The Riding House Cafe.

The food just melts in your mouth. We all took the pancakes except for M. who got salmon and scrambled eggs on toast I believe which was just as good. I seriously don't think I've eaten pancakes as good as these ones. I also took the bircher muesli which was scrumptious. Love the pumpkin seeds and strawberries on top of the muesli. Somehow it makes it that much yummier.
They serve their smoothies and juices in this awesome possum milk bottle and you just look really cool drinking in it. BTW, they have some really interesting mixes in their menu which I did want to try out but ya'know the muesli+pancakes+latte+juice would have been a bit much.

Overall, if I had friends visiting London I would definitely bring them here for a brunch or even for lunch. This place is just that swagelicious.

Go there. Try it out. You won't be disappointed! Trust me.

2-Minute Chocolate And Salted Caramel Cake

I'm addicted to Pinterest (follow me! my username is Laurac15) and one of my favourite things to repin is food (surprising much?). This week I came across this rather interesting food picture. The description read 2-minute Chocolate And Salted Caramel Cake. 2 minutes for a chocolate cake ? Hell, I had to try it out.

You know how recipes always say 'quick & easy' or it only takes '15mins' to make but really it takes like half an hour. Yeah well this recipe will take you 5 mins. 5 mins not even exaggerating. All that is needed to do is mix the ingredients in a small bowl, and all the measurements are in tablespoons so you don't have to bring out the weighing scale and stuff.

Once that's done pour it in a mug. Pop it in the microwave for 1.30 mins and done.

I was amazed at how quick this cooked. You can find the recipe here !

The only part I really like about this cake is the top because of the melted salted caramel or chocolate. The rest of it not too big of a fan. A little to dry for my liking. But it's worth trying! Plus, if you struggle with baking this is the easiest and I mean it. The easiest thing to make.

Zara Wish List

My Zara Wish List has never been this long. Their new collection is just to die for. From shoes to clothes to bags. You name it. I want it. I especially want these...

Mint + Metallic + Crossed Around Ankle Strap.

Maxi + Peachy + Slit.

Two-Tone Shoes + Chunky Heel.

Metallic + Stiletto.

Bodycon + Crazy Florals.

Pleats + Asymmetrical Hem.

Tie-Dye + White Jeans.

Sheer Shirt + Bat Wings.

Lace + Mini Shorts.

Basically explained under each item what I love about it. There's just too much things to love at Zara at the moment I can't walk in their store or I swear I will empty my bank account. And I'm trying to save up. So, if any of you want to be nice... Need I say more ? ;)

make this dream the best i've ever known

I love going on walks to take random pictures. I'm on my own most of the time only a few times did my friends come along but they aren't into the whole taking-a-walk/taking pictures thing. So when the sun came out the other day I took my camera out and took pictures of things I saw on my way to Waitrose.

Anyone out there wanna come for a walk to take pictures of random stuff ? Not joking. Tweet me @Laurac15.

Chicken Katsu

If you have still not figured out by now, I may have a slight obsession with food. It's seriously disturbing ! I'm known among my friends as the one who eats all day and I get a lot of 'omg are you seriously going to eat again?' from Astrid. Oh I know it's bad but food is yummy. Food is my life. I live to eat. This is probably one of the dishes I live for.

Mhmm. This is the easiest dish that needs no effort from you at all. Literally. All you have to do is stick your southern chicken from marks and spencer in the oven for 35 mins. Take it out. Drizzle it with tonkatsu sauce (bought at a japanese store my mom goes to atariya I know there are a few of those stores around london but if you live in central london the japanese centre is a place you want to check out) ! And voila.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy. I reckon this will be one of my go-to dishes will in uni. It isn't the healthiest meal though... But I balance it out with a green smoothie ! I think that does the trick ;)

Nail Of The Day : Essie Wicked

There's nothing like your good ole dark red. Feminine, elegant and it just makes your hands look so.... ah.   Augustine (yeah you girl i know you're reading this) gave me this little gem as a Christmas present (the girl knows me well) and ever since it's been one of my favourite nail polishes to wear.

Isn't it lovely? I'm pretty much obsessed with Essie's nail polishes to be honest and now that they are available at the Boots in Marble Arch (with a new apparently better, wider brush!!!!!!)............... My bank account is going to suffer. Because of revisions,(someone help me.) I can't really justify taking a 20-min tube ride just for nail polishes... Although I almost did it yesterday ! *slaps hand* I know it's bad.

Back to revising the ever so interesting decolonisation followed by a little history on wester europe from 1945 to today. Oh and top that up with a little lesson on perception, culture, art... there's many more themes. Weirdly enough, philosophy is the funnest thing to revise. Okay, I should stop rambling about all this and dive back into my intense revisions.

P.S I'm loving the rain. There's nothing like being sat at your desk with a cup of coffee revising your history while looking at the rain drops slide down your windowpane...

Dinner For One

There's something I really like about being alone. Maybe it's because I have my own space and don't have to be bothered about what other people in the household are doing to do what i've got to do... One thing I know I love when being alone is preparing my food. Lame ? I think not.

I love my assortment plates where I mix a variety of small dishes. It just makes the whole eating-alone thing so much more fun (lol i get excited for small things). Seriously though, it totally feels like you're eating more when you're not eating that much ! Last night on my 'assortment plate', I had a little tomato salad with feta cheese and green olives, prosciutto and mozzarella tortelloni and salmon fishcake.

What do you guys prepare yourselves when you're on your own ? SHARE ! :)

Who's Going To Prom ?

.... I AM !

It's the time of the year where all girls start looking frantically for their prom dress. I think some people have already had their prom but mine is in about 3 weeks. Because I live in the UK it's not the traditional american prom where you need to have a date and it's not as formal as the US but still! It's a great excuse to dress up. I have already got my dress from Lipsy and I will be sharing it with you on the day I wear it.
Although I have my dress I still did check out what was on the market so here are a few dresses I thought I'd share with you guys :)

40pounds

This first number is a really cute girly dress for all you girls who aren't too much into bright colours for prom ! This dress is from Miss Selfridge and you can find it here .

48pounds

When you look at this dress it looks really simple and there's nothing too intriguing about it (apart from the hi-lo going on or the fish tail as some of you might call it. I think if it's well accessorised and paired with a nice pair of shoes (i'm thinking strappy metallic-y gold heels or a neon pink heel. ha!) it will look just right for the occasion. This dress is from Topshop and you can find it here !

159pounds

I really like this dress mainly for it's train. The only thing that I see as a bad thing about this dress is the fact that it's bandeau. It can get quite irritating whilst dancing to always have to bring it up... Hmm. From Topshop, you can find it here!

185pounds
This dress is almost perfect ! I wish there weren't those little embellishments. Great dress to show off your legs plus you're most probably going to get some heads turning with the colour of this dress - neon yellow (yeah baby!). From Topshop, check it out here !

250pounds
This is an amazing embellished dress but I don't think we can say the same about the price tag ! But if you do have some extra pounds to spend then all you need to do is click the checkout button ;) From French Connection, find it here!

I took forever to write this post up ! Oh boy. For the past few days I've been just lying in bed feeling awful, desperately trying to revise for my exams which are in exactly two friggin months. Okay, I shall stop freaking myself out.

Hope you guys have a nice week-end and I'm just going to snuggle up in bed and watch BRIDESMAIDS ! Never seen it before but i've heard some good things.

Revlon Red Review + Swatches

As you might have seen in one of my previous posts, I recently purchased my first red lipstick. Today, on this sunny good friday I thought it would be the perfect day to rock this red lippy!

DSC_0083 DSC_0080 DSC_0088 DSC_0086

let me just say, if you want to get a red lipstick you might want to buy a red lipliner ! I would say it is essential. i have yet to go look for one but when i do i'll be sure to tell you about it (if it's good)!
this is my first revlon lipstick and it won't be my last ! it is so pigmented. emphasis on the so because trust me it is seriously pigmented. it stays on your lips even after eating or drinking. fab huh ?
revlon red is the perfect red. it's bright and... red. just look at the pictures! they are true to what the lipstick looks like in real life.
i'm so glad that i have finally started wearing other lipsticks than my regular nude lipsticks ( mac's politely pink or myth).

what is your favourite bright/daring lipstick ? share ! i want to buy more.

update: this lipstick is friggin amazing you guys. it stayed on even after eating falafels and samboussek jibnes  and a snog the red lips were still intact! crazy awesome.

Joy Williams

This morning I woke up and went on youtube to watch a few videos. after watching this video from amarixe on youtube  in which she mentions this song from joy williams I instantly fell in love with the song and even more with the singer herself.

speaking a dead language was featured in grey's anatomy. I love grey's. I think it's one of those tv shows I could watch over and over again and never get bored from watching the same episode. Anyway, grey's is not the point here ! I can't believe I have never heard of joy williams before ! Her music is so..... soothing? just listen to it !

Outfit Of The Day 26/03/2012

I actually forgot to share these pictures with you. or was it because there were too much posts last week ? not too sure. but this outfit just doesn't match the weather we're having in london right now! after a week of summer we are back to cloudy skies and the feeling it's going to rain at any minute (even if it isn't going to!). basically, just keep in mind this was worn during a normal spring weather.

after all the awkward faces and different camera positioning i officially need to learn how to take some good outfit of the day pictures!

T-Shirt - Zara

Skirt - Zara

Leather Jacket - Zara

Flats - San Marina

pretty much obsessed with this leather jacket which i have been wearing pretty much non-stop ever since i bought it. hi-low skirts have also been something i've been loving. initially, i thought this skirt would only make it on night-outs with a pair of heels and a nice lil top. but i decided it had to be worn more than just at night! love it because of the longer part at the back which basically flies when you walk. oh em gee so cool.

The Best-Dressed At Kids Choice Awards.......

Yes. My best-dressed for the Kids Choice Awards is SELENA GOMEZ. I love this girl's effortlessly cool outfits on a daily basis but this just wow. I love everything about it!

The dress is from Dolce&Gabbana and the heels Cesare Paciotti (never heard of this brand but will look into it (: )

Boots Essential Tinted Lipsalve

I'm pretty sure I took these pictures like two weeks ago whilst I was feeling ill in bed. I was eager to write some posts and get my blog back on track after leaving it to rot for too long. So, I know these aren't the best pictures but this lip balm is A-mazing.

I rediscovered this product during this winter just when my lips were getting super dry (due to Roaccutane as well). This was initially my little sister's lip balm which she left in my bathroom one day and he was very warmly welcomed :)

I really like this product first of all because I feel like it moisturises my lips really nicely. Another factor that made me fall head over heels for this is the fact that it is slightly tinted. I have to say that you only get that tinge of colour after applying a few layers of this! My lips aren't very pinky which is why I also like to use this as a base before applying a lipstick to lipgloss. It does stick to it's "enhances your natural lip colour" claim. I apply this to my lips all day and right before I know it i'm going to empty the tube! The best part of this product is probably the fact that it's only a pound ! Yes, A POUND.

I'm pretty sure every Boots will have this in-stores but if not here's a link to the product ! They seem to be on offer right now : 2 for 1.80 on selected Boots Essential Lipsalves, even better.

Outfit On A Sunny Sunday

I decided to be a little more active on the blog after being almost-not-there for too long. On Sunday I participated in a really fun photo shoot for Havaianas with Rachel and Laura ! It basically consisted in jumping in the middle of a circle of people which was, I have to admit , a teeny weeny scary but we ended up going together :) I'll obviously link the video on here when it's out.

I quickly snapped these before leaving with my MacBook's webcam so excuse the bad quality but you get the gist. The pants come just above the angle so it's not super long but it's not a 3/4 pant either. Picked it up in the Zara sales this winter knowing I would love them during the sunnier days.

Top - Emoi (vintage french brand that doesn't exist anymore!)

Pants - Zara

As you can see I still have a lot of toning up to do................ ! I paired this outfit with my high-top white Converse I can't let go. I've used them to death.

Hope you liked this post :)
